SeaPrep Privacy Policy

SeaPrep respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information.
SeaPrep is a Merchant Navy GP Rating interview preparation platform that provides interview questions, mock practice, learning resources, quizzes and related educational features.
Information We May Collect
When you use SeaPrep, we may collect:
- Name and email address
- Mobile number
- Educational or qualification details
- Account and authentication information
- App/website usage and learning progress
- Feedback submitted by users
- Payment reference/UTR and payment proof images uploaded for verification
- Plan, subscription activation and expiry information
How We Use Information
We use this information to create and manage accounts, provide interview-preparation services, verify payments, activate and manage subscriptions, provide support, improve SeaPrep, prevent misuse, send transaction receipts and send subscription-expiry or service-related reminders.
Payments
SeaPrep may use manual UPI/payment verification. Payment proof and transaction references are used only to verify the transaction, maintain access records and provide related support or receipts.
Camera, Microphone and Personal Live
The SeaPrep Android app may request camera and microphone permission only when a user chooses to join or host the Personal Live feature. These permissions are used to enable real-time audio/video communication. Personal Live is powered through an embedded third-party video-conferencing service (Jitsi Meet / 8x8 infrastructure). Audio and video are transmitted for the live session and are not intentionally recorded or stored by SeaPrep unless a separate recording feature is clearly enabled and disclosed in the future. Users can keep their microphone or camera off and may leave the live room at any time.
Chat messages, reactions, raised-hand status and participant controls used inside a live room may be processed by the video-conferencing provider for the duration of the meeting. SeaPrep does not sell this information.
Data Storage and Security
SeaPrep uses third-party infrastructure including Supabase and hosting/service providers. We use HTTPS and reasonable technical and organisational safeguards. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Sharing of Data
We do not sell personal data. Information may be processed by service providers only as needed to operate SeaPrep, host data, authenticate users, send service emails, verify or support payments, comply with law, or protect the service.
Account and Data Deletion
Users may request account deletion and deletion of associated personal data by contacting info.seaprep@gmail.com. Some transaction or compliance records may be retained where reasonably necessary or legally required.
Emails and Service Notifications
SeaPrep may send payment receipts, account/service notices and subscription-expiry reminders to the email address associated with your account. These are service-related communications.
Children
SeaPrep is an educational service and is not intended to knowingly collect personal data from children contrary to applicable law. Where required, users should access the service with appropriate parent or guardian involvement.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as SeaPrep changes. The latest version will be available on this page.
